Name Calling or Credibility to Diagnose Mental Illness
Delusional. Lets just take a look at what this word means…..(Psychiatry) A false belief strongly held in spite of invalidating evidence, especially as a symptom of mental illness or (psychology) an erroneous belief that is held in the face of evidence to the contrary.
Now the “New Religious Atheist”, I will refer to them as the NRA, has a regular habit of calling people of faith, meaning belief in a God, delusional. Now looking at the the definition of this term I am of the understanding that it may not mean what the NRA thinks it means. If a person is truly delusional then they would be deemed mentally ill. Therefore surely they would need to be given some evidence or see someone about some anti-delusion medicine for their mental illness.
As I have pondered on whether or not I am suffering from mental illness I have found interesting the part of the definitions that say “an erroneous belief that is held in the face of evidence to the contrary” and also “invalidating evidence”.
You, the NRA, have over and over called me and my fellow mentally ill believers delusional. As the sane person you claim you are, you are making it a point to diagnose my illness, hence I feel it is your responsibility to help me or to stop pretending to have a degree on your wall giving you the credibility to substantiate your claim.
Please try and help me by providing invalidating evidence or evidence to the contrary of my belief in God. I’m sure you will not waste time giving me any anecdotal evidence or use the Bible because you yourself have deemed it bogus evidence.
Of course if you do not have any evidence that there is no God please feel at liberty to help me by giving me some drugs to help stop the delusions.

When you get the evidence and/or drugs I hope you will share. LOL You express yourself well, my friend. Me, not so much I guess. It affects me so personally and I get tied up in knots trying to make my point in an intelligent manner…you’d think with a background in English, writing, and supporting my arguments with valid points and evidence I would do better. Anyway, I look forward to reading more of what you have to say
